Biography

Hui studied for a PGDip and an MSc in Statistics at the University College London from 2005 to 2007, followed by a PhD at the University of Cambridge where she then worked as a research associate. In Sept 2014, Hui became a Lecturer in Biostatistics at the University of Manchester.

Her PhD research entitled "Statistical Causal Inference and Propensity Analysis", under the supervision of Professor Philip Dawid, was within decision-theoretic framework (in other words, without counterfactuals). When she worked in Cambridge under the supervision of Dr Chris Wallace, her research was mainly focused on development and applications of statistical methodologies with the aim of understanding the genetics and mechanisms of common complex disease.

Hui's current research includes, but is not limited to, statistical causal inference in Genetics and prediction analysis in longitudinal studies.
