Biography

BI Norwegian Business School

After the first degree (BBA) in 1974 I went into industry and after a couple of short time jobs serving as an financial consultant and a data programmer I got into the media business in 1977. Serving as a sales manager and later organization and IT manager of the local newspaper in my home town of Drammen, I went for further education and completed my MBA at Henley Business School in 1985.
The same year I started out as a management consultant and worked for newspapers and newspaper organisations in Norway and Sweden from 1985 until 2007. I started the doctoral programme (DBA) at Henley Business School in 1992 and after going in and out of that program, I finally completed the doctorate in 2003.
From 2005 I was hired as a part time lecturer at BI in Drammen, and in 2008 I was hired 50% and in 2011 100%. After the closing down of the BI campus in Drammen, I went to work in Oslo and in 2015 I moved to Bergen where I now serve as an Associate Professor at the Bergen Campus.

My professional interests are media strategy and organization and my publications have to some extent reflected that. In later years I have got a great interest in developing new methods of learning - especially in a format of Blended Learning and online activities. I experiment with new formats as videos and other forms of active laearning formats.
