Biography
The King's Fund
Nicola has worked in and with the NHS for more than 25 years first as a clinician, then as a researcher and more recently as an organisational development (OD) specialist. She has also worked in the strategy unit at the Department of Health and held various non-executive and trustee positions in health care organisations.
Nicola is passionate about supporting individuals and organisations to improve the delivery of health and care services. She combines her OD skills with her health policy expertise. Nicola has a particular interest in the development of integrated care systems/partnerships and is currently working with a number of different regions across England. She recently co-authored The King’s Fund publication, A year of integrated care systems: reviewing the journey so far.
Nicola holds a degree in public health, an MSc in health policy and management, and a doctorate in the nature of organisational change secured by general practice using local contracts. She also holds a range of post-graduate qualifications in dialogue, facilitation and action learning. Nicola is currently contributing to some new research on the future of commissioning and the leadership of integrated care systems.
