Biography

Elizabeth Williams is president of Candler Chase, a communications and marketing consulting and training organization that helps executives and managers have better conversations with employees, customers and other stakeholders. Williams is passionate about building better employee and customer experiences through better communications. Over a 25-year career, she has worked with some of Canada’s largest banks, telecommunications providers and technology companies, at home and abroad. She is also a part-time instructor at Centennial College in Toronto, and co-founder of The Academy of Business Communications.

Williams is an Accredited Business Communicator and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Advancement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. She co-hosts a podcast on employee communications and is a frequent speaker at industry events, a regular contributor to business journals and has been recognized with a Gold Quill Award and a Silver Leaf Award by the International Association of Business Communicators for her work in communications skills training.

Her research interests focus on developing communications competencies for current and potential organizational leaders, with a particular interest in how graduate business programs can inculcate the communication knowledge, skills, and abilities the modern workplace demands.

Williams’ research will examine how the standard Master of Business Administration (MBA) curricula can be adapted to support the strategic, leadership, and tactical skills and experiences future leaders will require. This research will contribute to building management practices that support communication-centric organizations and leadership teams.

Williams holds a Master of Professional Communications degree from Royal Roads University (2018).
