Biography

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy

Donna has 20 years of experience consulting to the Australian Government and is a leading practitioner within Kantor Public in the application of behavioural theory and behavioural economics to the design of behaviour change strategies.

Donna specialises in designing innovative and customised research methods for complex segmentation and behaviour change objectives, particularly the development and implementation of mixed qualitative methods research to explore System 1 (automatic) and System 2 (reflective) influences on behaviour. A highly skilled qualitative researcher, she often leads projects that employ 'closer to the moment' ethnographic methods, such as in-home interviews, video diaries and observations, and peer-led ethnography; online communities; and 1:1 cognitive interviewing.

Donna has particular expertise in providing strategic advice on taking qualitative insights into segmentation studies, and developing communication frameworks for behaviour change. As well as her social marketing and behaviour change portfolio, Donna's areas of specialisation include:

• Social policy and programme development and evaluation

• Strategic planning for social communication strategies and campaigns

• Social and health research, particularly on sensitive topics

• Evaluation of advertising and communication campaigns

Donna has a Bachelors Degree in Applied Science, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences and a Masters of Public Health from Curtin University, and in 2002 she was named the Australian Capital Territory's Business Woman of the Year.
