Villanova University

Dennis Kowal Architects DKA practices in eleven states and three foreign countries. They recently received the Tesla Innovation Award for their University Learning Center Design that featured the WELL building standards for biophilic and healthy work environments. DKA produced prototypical building designs for local, state and Federal governments including the first library in the nation fully accessible to the blind and physically handicapped, a multi-sensory war simulation center for the US National Guard, a prototypical school and residence for multiply impaired children, and the design for the largest and most cherished Presbyterian Church in New England. Projects often restore historic elements of a building while artfully adding to meet technology and new needs. Their residential design work is marked by attention to detail and playful interaction with the site. Their design for the Ben Franklin Building Museum can be seen in the National Park area of Philadelphia, their Planetarium and Space Museum has been on national television. and their Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound houses some the world's most valuable music recordings at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
