Daniel Berman

Lecturer

Biography

-

I was hired to move to Geneva, New York, to take over when their existing debate coach, a friend of mine, suddenly passed away in June of 2018. The role involved overseeing team training sessions, providing support for debaters, organizing and providing transport to competitions for debaters, including international trips to Canada multiple weekends and to South Africa over New Year’s break for the World University Debate Championships. I also taught a course on public speaking and worked as a teaching assistant for the head of the Philosophy Department, Dr. Eric Barnes.

The term was for one year, and while I was able to make progress on my Phd writing while at HWS, the location in Geneva proved inconvenient for the final leg of my project. I departed in June of 2019 to return to London for the completion of my Phd.
