Christopher Mansour

Christopher Mansour has been working on establishing trust and reliability for the next generation networks through a layered approach. He has been able to design and provide prototype implementations of three different security solutions for the modern computer networks: A Data Plane Layer solution, an OS/Firmware Layer solution and an Application/Control Layer solution. His areas of expertise include: Computer Networks Security, Software Security, Embedded Systems Security, Internet of things, Ubiquitous Computing, Software Defined Networks, Cyber-Physical Systems Security, Software Engineering, and Trusted Computing. He has multiple IEEE publications and serves as a reviewer for the Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies as well as the International Journal of Communication Systems.

Christopher’s scholarly interests are in achieving reliability, security and trust for the next generation smart networks which are expected to enable a fully mobile and connected society and to empower socio-economic transformations in countless ways many of which are unimagined today. He aims at achieving a reliable, energy-efficient and a secure two-way communication between physical, computing and sensing devices which are at the core of such smart networks.

In parallel with his research at Villanova University, Christopher was a very active person in the College of Engineering. He was the College of Engineering Student’s Representative at the Villanova University Intellectual Property Board. Additionally, he served as a judge for the USA Regional MATE Underwater Robotics Competition which was organized by Villanova and Rowan Universities. Moreover, he served as a judge for the freshmen engineering projects and helped mentoring research students in their research and projects in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Furthermore, Christopher helped in cofounding the Center of Engineering and Education Research Graduate Club which acts as a communication channel between the engineering students and the College of Engineering and served as the vice president for this club developing and expanding its activities.

In terms of professional services, Christopher served as a technical program committee member for the Seventeenth International Conference on Networks (ICN 2018), the Tenth International Conference on Emerging Networks and Systems Intelligence (EMERGING 2018), and The Third International Conference on Advances in Computation, Communications and Services. Additionally, Christopher is a member of IEEE Computer Society and ACM.
