Colorado State University
Burt Deines is a Clinical Professor of Management in the College of Business where he teaches in the undergraduate business and business minor programs. Course instruction includes: Management Fundamental, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management. He is passionate and dedicated to teaching – especially entrepreneurship. He is an active advisor to several student and alumni founded startup ventures and is a trained facilitator for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac Program. Burt’s academic and teaching interests span family businesses, startup ideation, change management and organizational development. He holds a B.S.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing and a M.S.B.A. with a concentration in Management, both from Colorado State University. Go RAMS!
Burt also is the Project Coordinator for the Seat Belt Studies for the Colorado State Department of Transportation through the College’s Institute for Transportation Management. He has worked with the Rocky Mountain Innosphere, a technology incubator in Fort Collins, facilitating the FastTrac Program to help the founders of more than 60 technology companies develop business models and business plans. He continues working with several companies through start-up funding and serves on the board of advisors for one of the companies.
With more than 20 years of business experience, 12 years as a manager and six years in the private sector entrepreneurial environment, Burt takes a sound, practical, and professional approach when it comes to understanding the feasibility, the strategic development and the implementation processes of business ideas.
