Indian Institute of Management Indore
Dr. Biswanath Swain is currently an Assistant Professor (Ethics) in the Area of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. He earned his PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, and MA and MPhil from University of Hyderabad. He has been qualified with UGC-NET for government lectureship in the premier academic institutes and universities across India.
He teaches courses such as Ethics in Business Management (EPGP), Ethics and CSR (PGP), Marketing Ethics (PGP and FPM), Contemporary Moral Issues (IPM), Ethics and Society (IPM), and Philosophy: A Holistic Thinking Tool (IPM) at IIM Indore. His research primarily focusses on the issues in Core Ethics, Philosophy of Action and Agency, Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, Marketing Ethics, Ethics and Organization. His research is published in the journals including Journal of Business Ethics. His solo as well as co-authored research papers are presented at various international conferences held in the countries, such as Australia (Perth), France (Nice), Germany (Cologne), Japan (Tokyo and Sapporo), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Spain (Santander), UK (Oxford and Buxton), and USA (New York and Chicago) – along with the presentations at premier academic institutes in India like IIM Calcutta, IIM Kashipur, and IIT Delhi. He has also been associated with some of the reputable academic societies and associations, such as Society for Business Ethics (SBE), ALI, India; APIA, India; IACSIT, Singapore; CRVP, USA; SACP, USA. He has also been associated with International Journal of Corporate Social Responsibility (a springer publication) by being a member in its Editorial Board.
