Background
Vedantam' research has been funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Critical Material Institute, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics. His published work has appeared in Production and Operations Management, Operations Research Letters and Energy Policy, among others.
He serves on the editorial review board of the Production and Operations Management journal and the Decision Sciences journal and has chaired sessions at the POMS and INFORMS conferences. Vedantam has given talks based on his research to the Institute of Supply Management, the Western New York Sustainable Business Roundtable, the UB Alumni Association and the Association of Plastic Recyclers.

Industry Experience
Vedantam has worked in the global supply division at W.W. Grainger, a Fortune 500 company, where he built financial models to improve Grainger’s logistics and distribution network. Previously, he also worked in the FMCG sector in India where, in a product development role, he worked with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain and marketing divisions to launch a new brand of personal care products.
