Xavier Gilbert is Professor Emeritus of Strategy at IMD.

Professor Gilbert has been Professor of Business Administration at IMD from 1971 to 2008, when he retired.

During that time he directed several programs, including the one-year MBA program and the Program for Executive Development. He has held several managerial positions within IMD, and was Director General of IMD in 1992-1993.

Professor Gilbert is a graduate of ESSEC (France) and has a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Harvard Business School.
