Tiina Korhonen is the head of Innokas Network coordinating nationwide Innovation Education activities for over 600 schools in Finland. Mrs. Korhonen’s earlier experience includes professional teacher tenures in several Finnish elementary schools, with seven years as Vice headmaster at a school focusing on Innovation Education in Espoo. During her tenures, she has designed and implemented several professional development programs for teachers, managed a learning center focusing on innovation education in the City of Espoo, and coordinated a nationwide educational technology subproject of the Finnable 2020 education research project.
Her research work, including the Innovative School framework, has been published in peer-reviewed publications and research textbooks. In her academic work she collaborates with several international partners, including FabLearn Lab at Stanford University.
Mrs. Korhonen’s professional interests lie in the wide landscape of 21st century learning and development of school practice, with special focus on the practical opportunities available in digital learning environments and coding and robotics. Through her international collaborative network she develops and shares innovative school practices in learning, professional teaching and in school leadership and school partnerships.
