Background

Tamira has a Postgraduate Teaching Certificate and is experienced in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules and post-experience students. She began her career at The University of the Arts in London in the Retailing School and then Brunel University Business School, where she was a Marketing Lecturer, Course Director MSc Marketing, Director of Postgraduate Admissions and Senior Tutor. She was Visiting Lecturer at the Grenoble Grande Ecole de Management, France. Tamira was the winner of the Vice Chancellors Award for Teaching Excellence at Brunel for innovative research-led teaching. 

Current activities

Tamra is Course Director of MSc Retail Management.

Tamira''s work aims to improve the management of retail returns and customer service. She has trained retailers, such as Harrods, and has also developed tutor and learner materials for retailers in accordance with government policy with the Learning and Skills Council and Deloitte.

Her publications are in consumer behaviour and she specializes in ''deshopping'' a form of fraudulent returns behaviour. She has academic and professional publications and has edited a special issue of International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management and she has been a co-convenor of the EAERCD conference. 

Tamira has had large media coverage on her research for, example interviews for ''Tonight'' with Trevor McDonald and LBC. The interest and developments in consumer behaviour has drawn large and small retailers and retail representatives to be involved in her research. Tamira is on the EU Directory of Academic Experts in Consumer Affairs and Policy.
