Personal profile

Research interests

My research focuses on micro, meso and macro-level analyses of nonmarket strategy. Specifically, I am interested in exploring how corporate political strategies and corporate social responsibility programs are developed and how they affect the performance and governance of local and multinational enterprises. I am also interested in investigating the inter-relationship between business-government relations and institutional environments. Topics about political and institutional governance, dynamic political capabilities, ethicality of political strategies and political risk management also lie within my domain of expertise. I am particularly interested in emerging markets, especially those in Africa.

Willing to supervise PhD

I welcome potential PhD students and researchers with interest in nonmarket strategy and international business. Enquiries related to political risk and MNE strategy, political strategies and entrepreneurship/innovation/performance, dynamic political capabilities, and the complementarity of CSR and Corporate political activity are particularly encouraged.
