GIBS Business School

Stephanie Martinis is a Professional Associate of the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). She has been associated with GIBS since 2009 and works across different arms of the business school including Personalised and Applied Learning (PAL) and customised corporate programmes where she has fulfilled roles as lead faculty, individual coach, group coach and guest lecturer. Her areas of speciality include executive, group and team coaching, coach training and supervision and facilitation of sessions to equip leaders with basic coaching skills.

Stephanie has a financial background as a chartered accountant and stock broker. She has held senior positions at Deloitte as well as at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Since leaving the corporate world in 1999 she has led her own business pursuing her passion of self-development and finding ways to engage with others in their growth journeys; both as an example through living an abundant life and through the use of powerful coaching and facilitation methodologies.

Stephanie’s coaching experience exceeds 5000 hours. Her clients range from Executives of multinationals whose focus is conscious leadership, to private individuals seeking purpose and meaning. She has a particular interest in neuroscience as an underpinning for how humans learn, grow and change.

Stephanie has extensive facilitation experience in the fields of personal development, coaching and leadership and has developed her own programmes in these fields. She is currently Lead Faculty for the Professional Business Coaching Programme, GIBS’ ICF accredited coachg training programme.

She is passionate about the coaching profession and was a founding member of the ICF Gauteng Chapter where she served as Chair of the Education Portfolio from 2008 to 2012.

In addition to her coaching practice Stephanie has served as an executive director of a small property management company since 2010
