Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

Professor Sourav Mukherji is a Professor in the area of Organizational Behaviour & HRM at IIMB. He is an engineer from IIT, Kharagpur and a Fellow of IIMB. His major research interests are in the areas of Corporate Strategy and Structure, Organization Learning and Knowledge Management. Prior to joining IIMB as a faculty, Mukherji has worked in the Boston Consulting Group, IBM and Oracle. As a doctoral student at IIMB, he won the ‘Infosys Fellowship’, awarded for research in the IT industry He is currently engaged in studying the managerial and organizational innovations that have contributed to the competitiveness of leading Indian organizations in software services, automotive components and pharmaceutical industries. He has presented papers in international conferences, spoken at corporate forums and published in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to knowledge management and outsourcing of knowledge intensive services.

Research

Professor Mukherji's research interest is inclusivity and social enterprises – businesses that address the needs of the poor in a financially sustainable manner. In this domain, he has published several case studies and papers in academic and practitioner oriented journals. He also received UNDP Fellowship for Research in Inclusive Business Models and Villgrow Fellowship for Research on Social Entrepreneurship.

At IIMB, Sourav has held several leadership positions such as Chairperson of the Post Graduate (MBA) Programme (2014-2015), Chairperson Placements (2006-2009), Chairperson of IIMB Task Force for EQUIS Accreditation (2009-10) and has been a member of several high level committees such as IIMB Branding Committee, Executive MBA Design Committee, MBA Curriculum Review Committee, and IIMB Faculty Committee on Governance.
