Biography

Dr. Sotirios Douklias graduated in 2001 from the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras and in 2002 continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Essex in the UK in the field of Cognitive Neuropsychology.

He obtained his PhD in 2006 as a fellow of the University of Essex in Cognitive Evolutionary Neuropsychology. He has been a member of the Research Council of the British Psychological Society (2004-2005) and from 2008 to 2010 he worked at the Department of Psychology of the University of Cyprus as a Visiting Lecturer in Cognitive Neuropsychology

He has also been a trainer of the Pedagogical Institute on Learning Difficulties and Developmental Disorders, as well as a keynote speaker at Training Seminars of the Departments of Primary and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education.

From 2008 to 2016 at the University of Nicosia, at the European University of Cyprus, but also at the Cyprus University of Technology, teaching courses such as Neuropsychology, Perception and Attention, Psychology of Language and Reading, Learning Difficulties, Cognitive Psychology and many other courses.

He has presented at numerous international conferences, as well as at seminars and University days in Greece, Cyprus and abroad and has published in international scientific journals and chapters of scientific books.

In recent years he has been teaching as a lecturer at the Hellenic Open University and is an instructor at the Cyprus Police Academy.

Since 2010 he is the Director of the Noesis Neurofeedback Center and the first to apply the Neurofeedback method in Cyprus to intervene in a multitude of disorders, such as attention deficit disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, brain damage and neurological disorders.
