Dr. Shimi Mitra joined Fenway in 2018. Dr. Mitra received her MBChB from University of Bristol, United Kingdom in 2009. She completed her foundation year trainee in medicine at University of Oxford, United Kingdom. From 2013 to 2016, she was a Clinical Fellow in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in the Global Health Track and HIV Primary Care Track. She was also a Clinical Fellow in Nephrology from 2016 to 2018 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Mitra is a former HIV Primary Care Track Resident at Fenway Health and a former medical student teacher and preceptor at BIDMC. Her global health experience includes providing clinical care and teaching at Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Botswana in 2015. Her clinical interests include Primary Care, Internal Medicine, LGBTQIA+ Health, HIV/AIDS, and Nephrology.
