Ms. Welsh has taught Communication in Organizations at Georgetown University for over 25 years. She taught MBAs and Executive MBAs for several years at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and at the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She has taught at the U.S. Department of States Foreign Service Institute (FSI) for several decades. At FSI, Ms. Welsh has taught 15 communication courses to U.S. diplomats from the Ambassadorial- to entry-level envoys, including to political, economic, and public diplomacy Foreign Service Officers. Ms. Welsh has taught interviewing and advanced briefing skills to hundreds of Foreign Service Nationals working for U.S. diplomatic missions, and taught at U.S. Embassies in Paris and Kabul. She has also taught Diplomatic Communication at the Diplomatic Academy of the Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago, and Business Writing for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Armenia. She taught for ten years at the U.S Department of the Navy and currently teaches the Wounded Warriors / Dog Tag Business Administration program at Georgetown University. For both private and public sectors, she has provided writing, briefing, and speechwriting training to major divisions at organizations. She has served as executive speech coach for CEOs, U.S. senators, U.S. ambassadors, and foreign ambassadors to the U.S., White House appointees, and attorneys. She teaches Public Speaking for Attorneys, her course recently accredited by the Virginia State Bar. Ms. Welsh has a Master’s degree in Speech Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
