Sharad Gupta is a technology leader with extensive large-scale enterprise architecture strategy, technology strategy, IT roadmapping, solution architectures, and business solutions delivery background. He has led delivery of large-scale strategy and implementation programs in matrixed environments, involving complex business processes, diverse technologies and SDLC processes. He also has deep background in IT portfolio planning, data architectures, modern architectures, emerging technologies, and digital transformations. He is technology-savvy and has deep healthcare industry experience in the payer and provider domains. He is currently serving as the Director of Enterprise Architecture at Blue Shield of California and is responsible for the strategic direction, planning and delivery of enterprise architecture strategy, multi-year implementation roadmaps, technology selection, and architectures for large business transformation initiatives. Gupta is a lecturer at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management in the Masters of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program. He will be teaching Data Design and Representation. This course is designed to give students a broad understanding of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data as well as relational and NoSQL database architectures. This broad data understanding will enable students to effectively apply the concepts and practical methods during the business problem analysis, data understanding, and data preparation phases of their analytics projects. Gupta earned his MBA (Technology Management and Marketing) from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and a BS in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India.
