Cranfield School of Management

During her psychology training, Sandy was influenced by the Human Potential Movement in the USA and she trained directly with many of its major figures. Her practical and inspiring Centaur model is the product of these influences combined with decades of work with hundreds of managers and leaders and recent developments in neurobiology validate the Centaur approach in the realm of hard science. Centaur is a unique psychological take on the leadership environment which focuses on fulfilment of the potential in managers and the removal of both personal and organisational obstructions to this goal.

In 1986 Sandy was invited to Cranfield School of Management with the remit of deepening the focus of management development at the school and creating a holistic programme for managers based on this. Over the last 25 years Sandy has developed and delivered a number of programmes for Cranfield.

Alongside this, Sandy works with several companies based in the UK and Europe with the remit of strengthening the psychological understanding, leadership potential and capability of senior managers and skilled technical staff in other business areas. Sandy has also trained in-house managers to deliver and coach development using the model. Her clients include a multinational blue-chip automotive and electronics manufacturer, a software giant, a leading global banking organisation and a ’big four’ accounting firm. One programme Sandy developed has been underway for 15 years and recently a research project using 360 degree feedback from another client confirmed stunning development results in their senior leadership team over a 5 year intervention.
