London College of Fashion
Rufai works as a Cinematographer, Gaffer & Lighting Technician
His longest working relationship has been with Director/Fashion Photographer; George Harvey.
Mentored by Simon Foxton (&SON, i-D, Nick Knight), at the beginning of his career, Rufai's research interests and self made work focuses and revolves around the idea of cultural/political norms and subverting those ideas, as well as; "focusing stories and narratives on sexuality and QTIPOC (Queer, Trans, Intersex People of Colour) folk, and centring those narratives."
Educated at the Arts University of Bournemouth, under the tutelage of Witold Stok(BSC), and spending a year at the prestigious Czech Film School; FAMU, to further specialise in the art of Cinematography.
Trained under Nathan Matthews as a Lighting Technician, as well as spending some time at ARRI Media, training on the camera floor.
His speciality includes lighting for Fashion and Beauty films, and Online Commercials.
