Biography

Ron Irwin is a professional lecturer and writer. He was the writer in residence for the University of Cape Town’s prestigious MA in Creative Writing in 2008 after teaching in the programme for ten years. He has taught in the Centre for Film and Media since 2009.
He worked for two years as a documentary film maker and film agent and is a brand management consultant to numerous companies, including Strategic Name Development in Minneapolis and Interbrand in New York as well as Catalyst Communications in Cape Town. His articles on branding have appeared on www.brandchannel.com, the top online resource for brand management professionals. He has also contributed to The Good Corporate Citizen and The Journal of Brand Management. From 2001-2006 he taught Branding, Business in Context and Thinking About Business for the UCT School of Management Studies.
Ron holds a Masters degree in Literary Studies (UCT) and a Masters in Creative Writing (UCT).
Ron is the author of the 2013 novel, Flat Water Tuesday
