Biography
Roman Galperin, PhD (MIT Sloan School of Management) is an Assistant Professor of Management at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Professor Galperin’s research focuses on expert work and access to knowledge in organizations and markets. He studies these topics in the empirical contexts of intellectual property protection, health care, tax accounting, and consumer credit. In 2017, Galperin received a prestigious Discovery Award grant as a co-PI with Marshall Shuler (Dept. of Neuroscience) to study efficient search in the context of patent examination. Prior to joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins, professor Galperin was an NSF-ASA Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University and an Edward J. Safra Network Fellow at Harvard University. Galperin also served as a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston from 2013 to 2016.
