Background
Rodney L. Roenfeldt is a distinguished professor emeritus in the Department of Finance at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. He currently serves as vice president of the USC-Business Partnership Foundation. He served as associate dean for Academic Affairs from 2000 to 2007 and as interim dean of the Moore School from September 1999 to September 2000. He was department chair for Banking, Finance, Insurance and Real Estate from 1985 to 1999.
He is past president and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Financial Management Association, past president and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eastern Finance Association and past president of the Southern Finance Association. He received the Alfred G. Smith, Jr. Excellence in Teaching Award, the Alpha Chapter of Mortar Board Excellence in Teaching Award and the Capstone Area Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Roenfeldt has published papers on topics such as master limited partnerships, management buyouts, capital structure, bankruptcy and closed-end funds. Articles on these and other finance topics have appeared in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Research, Financial Management and numerous other journals. He is a former co-editor of the Journal of Financial Research.
