Biography

Prof. Robert P Lamberts is a Full Professor at Stellenbosch University (SUN), where he works as the Head of Academic Programming and Research Development at the Institute of Sport and Exercise Medicine (ISEM) and as Head of Orthopaedic Research at the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition, he is also holds a Honorary Associate Professorship at division of Exercise Science and Sport Medicine of the University of Cape Town (UCT). His research focuses on load monitoring in elite sports. For example, he recently developed a submaximal cycling test (LSCT) as an applied tool to monitor fatigue and recovery in athletes. At UdS he will give lectures in the areas of applied endurance training as well as monitoring training load and recovery.
