VC Academy
Renata George is an entrepreneur turned VC. She currently works in corporate venturing.
Aside from operating a venture fund, Renata makes venture capital education more accessible, and is passionate about advancing women and representatives of minority groups in the venture capital industry. She is the editor-in-chief of www.vc.academy, producer for www.women.vc and www.all.vc.
After selling her business in Europe, she started investing as an angel investor and raised a VC fund in the United States in 2011. She then joined another VC firm in Singapore, and established a strategic corporate venture arm for an Asian unicorn startup.
Along the way, Ms George helped various tech companies to raise ~USD $30M from state institutions, as well as ~USD $20M from venture capital investors.
As an entrepreneur, she built one of the most successful media network franchises in Eastern Europe, and timely exited the business in 2008.
Ms George is a frequent speaker and active advisor to startups. She was featured on Forbes.com lists "Millennial Women Venture Investors" and "The Top Women in Venture Capital and Angel Investing".
She has authored two other books "Venture Capital Mindset" (2018) and "The Manual for Finding a Perfect Mentor for Entrepreneurs" (2013), and co-authored a course on venture capital and entrepreneurship (2014)
