Biography
The College of Engineering: Integrative Systems + Design
Pooya Alavian received his BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Since 2013, he has been a doctoral student in the Manufacturing Engineering program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI.
His research interests include modeling, design, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations with an emphasis on Multi-Job Production (MJP) systems, artificial intelligence with applications in smart manufacturing, and control systems. He is the recipient of the 2016 University of Michigan Engineering Graduate Symposium first prize in Industrial and Financial Engineering section.
