Phedon Phedonos

He was born on 18.06.1978. He graduated from the Kykkos Lyceum in Pafos and then served his military service. He studied International and European Economic Studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and holds a Master degree in International and European Studies from the same University. He also holds a Law degree from Neapolis University.

He was an active member of the student movement in Athens and E.F.E.K. Athens. On his return to Cyprus, after the completion of his studies, he worked as a Parliamentary Associate (2002-2006) and then as a private sector employee (2006-2014).

He was the Pafos District Secretary of the Democratic Rally (DISY) party from 2003 to 2012. In 2011 he was elected as Municipal Councillor at Pafos Municipality and under this authority served as a member of the Pafos Sewage Board and as Chairman of the Town Planning Municipal Committee (2012-2015). He was appointed by the Council of Ministers as member of the Board for the Examination of Departure Applications for the period 2012-2015.

He was elected Mayor of Pafos at the by- election held on January 11, 2015 and was re-elected in December 18, 2016 for a five year term (2017-2021) with a percentage of 55,66%.

He is the chairman of the Company Pafos Aphrodite Festival Cyprus Ltd which organises the annual opera festival and chairman of the Coordinating Committee of Parties and Organisations of the Pafos District (SEKO).

He is married to Louisa Andreou and has two children, Florentia and Christos.
