Biography
Norman White is Clinical Professor of Information, Operations, and Management Sciences at New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is the Faculty Director of the Stern Center for Research Computing, as well as the Undergraduate Program Advisor for the Department of Technology, Operations, and Statistics. He is also Deputy Chair of the Information Systems Department and has served as the Acting Chief Technology Officer of the Stern School.
Professor White's current research focuses on applications of large scale computing (grid and big data) infrastructures for storing and analyzing data. He has published in the areas of decision support systems, data mining, computer networking and simulation and gaming. He teaches Information Systems in the undergraduate, MBA, and executive education programs at the Stern School.
Professor White holds a B.A. from Harvard University in Engineering and Applied Physics, and a Ph.D. from the NYU Stern in Economics and Quantitative Analysis.
