Bayes Business School
Nick Badman joined Cass in 2009 to design and lead a distinctive new Centre for Entrepreneurship - integrating development programmes for high potential entrepreneurs with access to practitioner networks, incubation support and capital. He is now a Visiting Professor at Cass, Co-Director of its New Venture Creation Programme, and a member of the Investment Committee of the Cass Entrepreneurship Fund LLP. He is a regular writer and commentator on entrepreneurship, UK enterprise, and financing issues relating to SME’s.
Nick originally qualified and practised as a lawyer with Clifford Chance in London before joining 3i Group plc. Over an 18 year career with 3i Nick acted as an equity investor and financial partner to diverse businesses ranging from start ups to over £1 billion in value. Latterly, as Managing Director he oversaw the profitable development of 3i’s controlling stakes in upto 40 businesses at a time with UK headquarters. During his 3i career and subsequently Nick has held a succession of Board seats with organisations seeking to achieve significant growth and /or strategic shift. Nick currently sits on several Investment Committees involved variously with early stage equity funding and real estate. Nick also practices as an expert witness in high value commercial litigation.
