Biography
Michael Waugh joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Economics in September 2009. Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Waugh worked as a research economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and as a consultant to the World Bank.
Professor Waugh's research focuses on international trade and economic growth and development. He is the recipient of several fellowships and awards, including the Seashore Dissertation Year Fellowship at the University of Iowa in 2007-8 and the Graduate Dean's Distinguished Dissertation Award at the University of Iowa in 2010.
Professor Waugh received his B.A. in Economics from Saint Anselm College, his M.A. in Economics from Fordham University and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Iowa.
