Dr Matthew Woo is the principal consultant clinical psychologist and director of Riverlife Psychology. He was formerly in the employment of the Institute of Mental Health for 19 years and held the position of Senior Principal Clinical Psychologist and Deputy Head of the Department of Psychology. He is the recipient of two Health Manpower Development Program fellowship awards for Community Psychiatry (Los Angeles and Chicago, in 2003) and Sex Offender Interventions (Portland, in 2010).

Dr Matthew has been featured for his work with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in the local media that has included the Straits Times, Lianhe Wanbao, Lianhe Zaobao. He has been published widely in many international journals and continues to lecture as an adjunct associate professor with the local universities.

Dr Matthew is the founder president of EMDR Singapore in 2010-2012 and has been a facilitator with the EMDR Institute since 2011. He has also undertaken the Basic and Masters Level Training for EMDR therapy from 2007-2012 and is the President of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) Asia, an organisation that upholds the standards and training of EMDR therapy across Asia. He continues to teach at the National University of Singapore on the Psychotherapy program as an Adjunct A/Prof.
