Biography
Boston University
Professor Stewart is an Associate Professor of Rhetoric who teaches courses on war, literature and the arts. He is the author of Modernism and Tradition in Ernest Hemingway’s In Our Time: A Guide for Students and Readers and a former member of the Board of Advisory Editors for College Literature from 2002-2007. He has published several articles in The Hemingway Review and Contemporary Literary Criticism.

Matthew has worked in higher education for a decade, in positions as wide-ranging as faculty member, registrar, and administrator. He holds a bachelor of science in creative writing from SUNY Brockport and a master of fine art in creative writing from The New School, where he specialized in creative nonfiction.
