McCourt School of Public Policy

Dr. Matthew H. Fleming serves as vice president and chief of staff of the information security department of a large financial services firm in the United States. Having held positions with the U.S. Department of Defense, International Monetary Fund, and others, Fleming is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, with the McDonough School of Business and McCourt School of Public Policy; a member of the board of directors of the Internet Security Alliance; and president of the board of a Maryland-based not-for-profit economic development organization. Fleming has previously served as a nonresident fellow with New America and also the GW Center for Cyber & Homeland Security; an advisor to both the Tech Council of Maryland and the Washington Cyber Roundtable; and a member of project teams and expert groups for the World Economic Forum, President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, and Prime Minister's Delivery Unit in the UK. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of London (University College London); a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor); and a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University.
