Matthew Bandelt

Dr. Bandelt is an expert in the behavior and modeling of novel infrastructure materials for improved lifecycle performance, sustainability, and resiliency. Dr. Bandelt joined the John A. Reif, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NJIT in July 2015. He received his PhD in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University in 2015 with a concentration in structural engineering, and his bachelors and masters degrees in civil engineering from Villanova University, both with concentrations in structural engineering. Dr. Bandelt is the recipient of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award, the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Fred R. Havens Fellowship, and the John A. Blume Fellowship from Stanford University. He is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in the State of New Jersey and the Commonweatlh of Pennsylvania.
