Biography

ESADE Business School

Maria José Parada is a Lecturer at the Strategy and General Management Department and Co-director of the MBA Family Business Lab at ESADE Business School. She teaches Family Business Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship in different programs. Maria José holds a PhD in business administration from Jönköping International Business School, and a PhD in Management Sciences from ESADE. She has been Visiting Researcher of the INSEAD Global Leadership Center, France, and at HEC, Paris. Her research interests cover governance, professionalization, values, entrepreneurship, and next-gen leadership. She is an FFI Fellow and pursued the Advanced Family Business Advising certificate from Family Firm Institute. She is currently chair of the European STEP Project Council. She serves a board member in her own family business. She has several years of experience working in the telecom industry for a multinational corporation and in the tourism industry in her own family business.
