An economist, Marc Prieto graduated from Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, holds a PhD in economics sciences (2006), and a Higher Doctorate (HDR 2014).

He is the chairholder of ESSCA “Distribution et Services Automobiles”.

He is in charge of the major “E-Marketing, Mobilités, Automobile” (EMMA) of programme Grande Ecole, as well as the executive education programme BADGE “Distribution and Automotive Services Manager” (RNCP niveau 1).

As a professor, he teaches economics and marketing (Master’s programme) at ESSCA and in partners institutions in France (CNAM-GARAC Diplôme d’Ingénieur) and international corporate partners (ICESI, Columbia, PUCV Valparaíso, Chile, TEC Monterrey, Mexico, University of Zaragoza and Burgos, Spain).

His research interests include automobile consumption and mobility service. His works have been published in International conferences and journals (American Marketing Association, European Institute of Retailing and Services Studies, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Retailing and Distribution Management, Transportation Research Part A). He authored dissemination books (Consommer moins pour vivre mieux ?, 2010, Idées Reçues sur l’économie collaborative, 2018), studies in peer-reviewed journals (Questions Internationales, 2016, 2018, P@ges Europe, 2016), contributions to collective books (Grand Livre des Idées Reçues, 2010, 2011).

As a chairholder, Marc Prieto is interested in recent automobile and mobility innovations. In 2017, he coordinated the Livre Blanc « Véhicules connectés à l’ère du numérique : regards croisés sur les mutations des services automobiles ».
