Lasse Birk Olesen

A blockchain entrepreneur since 2011, Lasse Birk Olesen (b. 1987) co-founded Coinify which is the leading blockchain payment provider. Coinify is also exclusive exchange partner of the world''s largest blockchain wallet, and serves its unique blockchain payment platform to more than 30 payment industry partners with a combined reach of more than 100,000 merchants. In 2016, Swedish bank SEB joined Coinify as investor in a $4 million round. Lasse also founded one of the first digital currency exchanges in Europe as well as the first exchange in the Philippines which was acquired two years later.

Lasse has consulted European and Asian government agencies on blockchain and blogged with the largest Danish financial newspaper Børsen on how blockchains and other exponential technologies affect society and politics. He is also often quoted in outlets such as Business Insider and Bloomberg. Before diving into blockchains, Lasse worked with The Seasteading Institute and Blueseed to create startup countries on the ocean. He holds an engineering degree with studies at Technical University of Denmark and National University of Singapore.
