University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business
Kate Kopischke is an independent mediator specializing in stakeholder engagement, dispute prevention, and dispute resolution in the natural resources sectors. Her work involves neutral assessments and facilitated dialogue to help communities, companies and the public sector address concerns and grievances stemming from the impacts of large-scale development projects. She is a consulting senior mediator with RESOLVE, a non-profit organization that works with community, business, government, and NGO leaders to get results and create lasting relationships through collaboration. From 2005 to 2010 she worked as dispute resolution specialist for the Office of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman, an independent accountability mechanism of the International Finance Corporation - the private sector lending arm of the World Bank Group. In that role, she mediated and facilitated numerous dialogue processes around the world stemming from complaints about the social and environmental impacts of IFC projects. Kate holds a master’s degree in intercultural communication from the University of New Mexico.
