Biography
The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School
Dr Kate Cullen is a Chartered Management Accountant and a BComm (Banking and Finance), MBS (Financial Services), and PhD (Accounting) graduate from University College Dublin. Kate has lectured extensively on topics relating to accounting and control, including cost management, strategic, and ethical decision-making.
Kate’s research interests are behavioural in nature and, to date, have focused on the psychology of decision-making, exploring decision-makers’ use of financial information. Kate previously worked in wealth management and financial services consulting, with Davy and Deloitte respectively. In Davy, Kate worked in many areas of their private clients business, including portfolio management and property investment, while at Deloitte, she offered advisory services to a wide range of financial services institutions.
In 2009, Kate joined the College of Business in University College Dublin as a member of the academic faculty, before joining the Institute of Banking, a recognised college of UCD, in 2016 as Programme Director, Executive Education. Kate continues to lecture in UCD at postgraduate and executive education levels as an associate member of the faculty.
