Joseph Ciquera is a native of Garden City, New York. He received his undergraduate degree from Brockport State University in Business Administration in 1977. Joe then earned a teaching certificate at Adelphi University and taught high school social studies for three years, after which he pursued a career in the air cargo industry at JFK Airport. He worked with Federal Express for 30 years as an international sales executive and sales manager. He managed a territory from Wilmington, Delaware, to Wilmington, North Carolina, that produced over $110 million of international business in a year. While working, he obtained his MBA in global management at the University of Phoenix. In 2009, Joe worked as an adjunct teacher for Georgetown University’s continuing education division, where he taught global supply chain. Joe also took an adjunct position teaching international business at Temple University. After retiring from FedEx in 2020, Joe took a full-time position at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, where he taught international business, principles of management, cross-cultural management, and supply chain management. He has also played and coached football, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey. Joe is married and has three adult sons.
