Stanford University (ONLINE)

John Mitchell is the Mary and Gordon Crary Family Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University. He has a faculty appointment in Computer Science, as well as courtesy appointments in Electrical Engineering and the Graduate School of Education. He has research interests in computer security such as access control, network protocols, and software system security. He has also done research in programming languages such as type systems, object systems, and formal methods. He is also interested in applications of mathematical logic to computer science. Dr. Mitchell has a B.S. degree from Stanford University and a M.S. and Ph.D. degree from MIT.
