Dr. Méndez is an associate professor of surgery whose clinical interests include breast cancer treatment and prevention, breast cancer in underserved and minority patient populations and surgical oncology. Dr. Méndez is active in multiple surgical and breast surgery related organizations and served as vice chair of the Education Committee of the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG), is a member of the Disparities Committee of the Society of Surgical Oncology and a member of the Nominating/Programs Committee at Susan G. Komen, Mass. affiliate. In addition, Méndez is a national and international breast cancer speaker and the author of multiple publications in prestigious medical journals.
