Biography
Professor McElroy, a member of the Cumberland Law Group, LLPC, has built a distinguished career at the intersection of law and business. He possesses a wealth of expertise in legal issues, especially those related to startup companies, technology and real estate.
Impact
Jim has organized (and represents) a group of affiliated start-up companies in business of building and operating college dormitories, including acquisition (ground lease structure), contracting and financing. He is also a representative of the developer of 80+ acre tract in Williamson County. He formerly had a solo law practice focusing on corporate law.
Leadership
Jim was active in the Governor’s Task Force on Biotechnology in Tennessee. He was Incorporator, Director, President, Chairman and member of the Executive Committee of The Tennessee Biotechology Association, a nonprofit trade association.
Teaching
Jim teaches Law and Business at Vanderbilt.
