Executive School of Management, Technology and Law

Hans-Joachim Jaeger is a partner at Ernst & Young and leads the divison Banking & Capital Mar-kets Tax. After training as a banker in Germany and a job in private banking, Mr. Jaeger studied in St. Gallen and also did his PhD there. After working as an options trader in London, he worked as a tax consultant at Arthur Andersen in Zurich and as a deputy group tax director at Julius Baer. Since 2003, he has been with Ernst & Young. Here he advises banks and traders mainly in terms of operational control and structured financing. In addition to his job as tax consultant, Mr. Jaeger is a lecturer in tax law at the University of St. Gallen, and teaches in MBA, Executive MBA and MBL programs at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Lucerne. He is also in the tax com-mittee of the Swiss Funds Association.
