Smeal College of Business

Professor Glen Kreiner received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Arizona State University and a B.A. in Communications and a Master's of Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University. Professor Kreiner serves on the editorial boards for the Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Organization Science and reviews regularly for several leading management journals. He has published his research in the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Family Business Review, Human Relations, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and Human Resource Management Review. His research findings have also been reported on by the Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, and print and broadcast news organizations internationally. He has received numerous awards for his research, including SIOP's best paper award and the Rosabeth Moss Kanter best paper award.

Expertise His research areas include social identification (how individuals define themselves by their jobs, organizations, and professions), organization identity change (how organizations respond to threats/changes to their identity), role transitions (how people alternate among their many roles), dirty work (how workers and managers in stigmatized occupations deal with stigma), emotions in the workplace (such as how people shift from one emotion to another as part of their work), mindful leadership, and workers with cognitive disabilities.
