George Pohndorf has 22 years of executive leadership experience in the energy industry with an extensive background in utility finance and regulation. George currently serves as a Principal Consultant with Black & Veatch Management Consulting, LLC and leads its State and Federal Regulatory practice. George has served in a number of executive-level positions at Puget Sound Energy and Snohomish County PUD, focusing on enabling the company’s financial and strategic success. This includes leading regulatory affairs, energy resource planning, energy efficiency, solar, transportation electrification, major customer accounts and external affairs. George holds an MBA in finance from the Simon School of Business and has completed executive programs at the Chicago Booth, Stanford and Kellogg graduate schools of business. The Simon School is consistently ranked as one of the top ten finance and economics programs worldwide by the Financial Times.

As PSE’s lead liaison to the Washington Utilities and Transportation commission as well as a broad range of stakeholders, George has many years of experience in addressing complex multi-discipline issues, policy matters and analyses with diverse audiences. George has also conducted extensive team development in his various leadership roles at PSE. George has served on the Board of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, leading the NEEA Board’s Strategic Planning.
