George Merguerian

George Merguerian is an expert in project, programme and portfolio practices. Since 2002 he has been helping companies achieve excellence in the above fields through consulting training and coaching. George is Project Management Professional accredited by the Project Management Institute.

Throughout his career, George held line management, engineering/technical, marketing and management development positions in multi-national organisations from the Construction, Shipbuilding, Engine Manufacturing, Oil Services, Executive Development, Information Technology, and Consulting sectors. He has managed projects/contracts for Fortune 500 companies in Asia, Europe, the Middle-East and North America.

Prior to Business Management Consultants (BMC), George developed and led e-commerce projects in the automotive, FMCG and Health sectors for European organisations in cooperation with major consultancies like AT Kearney, and Deloitte & Touche. George developed Management Centre Europe’s Quality, Technology Management Practices at Management Centre Europe (MCE) in Brussels.

In his current role as an experienced consultant George supports private and public sector organisations in Europe execute effectively their strategies using BMC’s unique strategy implementation framework and project and portfolio management best practices. He also takes particular interest in helping customers develop their project management maturity and link maturity to organisational benefits. For the optimal performance of organisations George supports the development of their project management methodologies that are best suited to their environment. George has expert knowledge of standards and methodologies such as the PMBOK® of the Project Management Institute, RUP, Agile approaches and PRINCE2.

Education and qualifications

George holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP® ), an ex board and current member of the Society of European Engineers and Industrialists (SEII) and the Project Management Institute. George is faculty member for project management programmes at the Rotterdam School of Management and the International Management Institute in Ukraine. He has authored and co-authored papers on technical and management subjects.
